FAQs

How do I start an IDRF event or campaign?

It always easier to ask someone who you know to support you than someone you do not know, so start off with family and close friends. They are the people who are sure to donate to your cause.

How do I set a Goal?

It important to understand your goal amount as it could be tempting to set a lofty goal but the idea is that it should be achievable and your supporters should do the same. Donors need to believe the goal can be reached, and so does the fundraiser. Start small and if the goal is exceeded you can just set a new mark.

What is Peep-to-Peer fundraising?

In order to have a successful peer-to-peer campaign you might have think outside of the box as to how to best engage your donors and friends in participating. It should be fun and enjoyable for all those who are participating in supporting you achieve your goal.

How do I catch the attention of my supporters?

For some donors, the fact that they know the fundraiser or that it’s fun is enough, but a lot of donors want to know what the effect of their donation will be, so encourage your fundraisers to make it clear what impact their donation will have. Tell them amount required to help an individual or family for example, $45 will support a Rohingya Family of 5 with food for one full month in Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh.

How do I create an effective Peer-to-Peer campaign?

Peer-to-peer campaigns are all about momentum so you do not want to make your campaign short or to long so, we recommend having a campaign for one or two months. Any longer than this and you will lose your captive audience, and your fundraiser will grow weary as well. As a bonus, find a corporate partner or major donor to match the donations that come in from your peer-to-peer campaigns. Matching donations is a great way to incentivize new donors to give.

What is a good way to stay connected to my Supporters?

This hands down the most important part of any campaign. Donations are just the start. If you want to build a loyal following then you have to build relationships with your donors, and that starts with kindness. Say thank you.

How do I know if my campaign was successful?

There’s no such thing as a perfect campaign. Every campaign you create and run can be improved. So review that data, learn from your mistakes, and make your next campaign even better.
